Set in 1960’s London, Funny Woman is a humorous and insightful account of the adventures of 'Miss Blackpool’ as she works her way to becoming television’s new starlet. A co-production with Potboiler Productions for SKY, Morwenna Banks has adapted the popular Nick Hornby novel with Oliver Parker directing the series.
Jessie Ware – Remember Where You Are (Short Film)
We were thrilled when Jessie Ware approached us to make a short film for her beautiful song “Remember Where You Are.” The film is a love-letter to locked down London, taking advance of the once in a lifetime chance to film desolate yet iconic locations in central London. We asked Dominic Savage to direct, having previously collaborated with Gemma Arterton on The Escape, and the film came together very quickly and with a lot of love and good will. We hope the film marks the end of these strange times we’ve been living in; coming out of the darkness and loneliness and into the light and a more hopeful future.
Leading Lady Parts – a short film by Jessica Swale
“Leading Lady Parts” is a comedic response to gender and racial inequality in the film industry. The film was made in association with Times Up UK to raise awareness of the Justice and Equality Fund , and was launched on the BBC. The film was a huge viral success. Leading Lady Parts has an all-star cast including Florence Pugh, Gemma Chan, Emilia Clarke, Tom Hiddleston, Felicity Jones, Wunmi Mosaku, Gemma Arterton, Lena Heady, Stacey Martin and Catherine Tate. The film was made using a predominantly female crew.
HAYLEY ALIEN – a short film by Hannah Arterton
A young woman washes up on the banks of the Thames. She is not from here. However, she has an important message she must deliver. In a fast-paced world of strange detatchment, she must learn how to be seen, how to interact and ultimately how to connect with the seemingly unreachable people around her. Hayley Alien stars Karla Crome and Gemma Arterton. The film is currently being entered into festivals and will be screened towards the end of the year.
